Radio, TV talk show host Shiels receives tribute in state Senate
Syndicated talk radio and TV host Michael Patrick Shiels was recently presented with a special tribute in the Michigan Senate. Shiels, 44, received an ovation after Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, presented the tribute alongside Senate Democratic Leader Gretchen Whitmer of East Lansing and Lt. Gov. Brian Calley.
“The award is based on the production, effectiveness and creativity of the show, in which Mr. Shiels has continuously demonstrated superiority,” Kowall read from the proclamation, which also was signed by Gov. Rick Snyder. “His show leaves a lasting impression upon his listeners, and serves to keep them in touch with the news, politics, events, financial reports and sports stories that matter most.”
“Michigan’s Big Show starring Michael Patrick Shiels” airs on radio stations across Michigan and on Lansing’s Fox 47 TV each weekday.
“Standing in front of the Senate left me speechless — a rare condition for a talk show host,” joked Shiels. Visit www.MiBigShow.com for a list of affiliates or to hear the show online.
